MLIS Discoveries

 The LIS 724 Resources page was a super awesome resource to refer to throughout the semester. Now that I'm having a chance to go through and look at links for resources that don't directly relate to assignments or lessons we are working on I am finding so many new resources that I want to learn more about -- especially those having to do with lessons and lesson planning. I love that this has been the heart of this class and our final "lesson".  The resource that I suggested be added would be WeVideo or some video-creating tools. As librarians I think making videos is a skill that will be extremely valuable in the future... especially tutorials. I really liked learning WeVideo for our short tutorials and have used it for my other 2 classes this semester. Prior to this class I had no idea it existed and although it is pretty limited in the free version, I found it a very valuable resource and would be interested in exploring others like it.  Overall, I enjoyed exploring...

 At first daunting, the instructional presentation actually turned out to be one of my favorite group projects this semester. From the first meeting, our group was instantly engaged and all in on the topic of resume writing. We initially set our topic and each member took a sub-topic to research and present on.  Everyone came forward with really great ideas: Lorena had the brilliant idea to incorporate a game as a sort of icebreaker. Kelly came up with the catchy "3 Cs" concept for our lesson. Todd always asks great questions and even interviewed someone for professional advice. Matthew came up with a great overview and feedback scenario since we knew we'd want to learn do better in the future. Gina, with probably the most difficult task of all, took on the live demo part.
